Rhino

Look who I bumped into whilst out and about in Tauranga! A rhino! Lucky he was a friendly rhino and didn't mind me having a photo with him!

Summer BBQ

We all enjoyed a summer BBQ at the centre. A face painter came in and I had some beautiful flowers painted on my face. We listened to music and had a lovely relaxing time!

Sensory Board

I had fun helping Nicole to make a new sensory board for us all to use at Wilrose! We used pasta, sand, paint and lots of glue to stick it all on!

Park

We visited the park at Kaka Street today. I was able to show my friends the awesome swings, roundabout and climbing frame as they hadn't been there before!

Birthday

Happy Birthday to me! I really enjoyed sharing my amazing birthday cake with my friends.

Today I was able to help my friend Moeata collage Big Bird, he's amazingly colourful.

Gypsy Trucks

On a walk by the marina we came across some cool gypsy trucks. The Gypsy Fair has been in town. It was great to check them out! 

Donkeys

We patted the donkeys and I got to see the new baby donkey at Windermere. He is very cute

Music

We had a singalong this morning. Here I am singing along to The Eagles - Hotel California! 

Maori Culture

I enjoyed singing Maori songs and twirling some poi today. We also looked at a video of people using Te Marako - the Maori sticks - we are going to make some next week!

Marshalls Animal Farm

I had such a fun time on my trip to Marshalls Animal Farm. The huge stag had antlers that felt so smooth and the horses were really lovely. I fed the deer and the pig and had a lovely day with my friends.

Finger painting

Today I worked on my goal of creating a finger painting mural. We are going to turn these handprints into dogs and other animals! Lots of fun!

Kinetic sand

Today in tactile I got to have a play with the new kinetic sand. It felt cool in my hands. It came in a bucket with some moulds so I put the sand in the moulds and out came these shapes so we made a castle wall. It was funny seeing the sand take shape. Then I went hunting in the tactile box of goodies and found some fun dough so I rolled a piece of it into a long snake. I had so much fun I couldn't stop laughing!

The warehouse

We had an outing to check out the opening of the new warehouse at the Lakes and came across this huge kiwi.

Sulphur Point

What a beautiful day for a walk down at sulphur point! Sunshine and blue skies makes me happy!!

Waterfront walk

I enjoyed a nice walk down by the waterfront with some friends. We saw heaps of interesting things and went to get a close up look at some of them!

Friendship

I often sit by my friend Carrie after morning tea or lunch. We relax and look through magazines together. 

Mousetraps

I really enjoyed making mousetraps with my cooking group. Yum yum!!!

Dog walking

I really love taking the SPCA dogs for a walk with some of my friends from Wilrose. It's great fun and good exercise too!

Collage

I really enjoyed making this abstract paper collage which I'm going to put in my Personal Book. It was great fun and I love the finished picture! 

Greerton Police Station

We visited the Greerton Police Station today

Memorial park

We checked out the water fall at the memorial park. It was very calm.

I've had so much fun making this awesome board that shows all the cool things I like!!

Tactile fun

In tactile class I made up magic snow. We put half a cup of water in a bowl then I tipped in a packet of powder and it soaked up all the water and went all fluffy. I stirred it up and then put my hands in to play with it. It felt soft and fluffy and a bit grainy. Then I played with the shaving foam trying to find things hidden in it. I really liked the feeling of the paintbrush on my hand. It tickled me and I kept laughing at the feel of it. 

Cooking class

In cooking we made cheese and marmite and plain cheese pastry twirls. I had a good time rolling the pastry out with the rolling pin, and sprinkling on the cheese. 

Merivale community garden

Checking out the Merivale community garden where we will establish our new project! Pretty exciting to see!

Community outings

This week I had an outing to Palmers garden centre. We looked at all the different types of concrete moulds, to get ideas for our new gardening art mounds.

Fire engine

This week some of the Greerton firemen visited our centre. I got to sit in one of the fire engines.
