June Passed So Soon

 Hello Sophie here! It’s been a fun, musical month! My absolute favourite.I’ve done so much awesome music and waiata with friends and new  friends from Greerton too. We had an ISing rehearsal, followed by the actual ISing performance which was so much fun! I helped with making the decorations with balloons and crepe paper and it looked really good, if I say so myself. 

I’ve relaxed with the sound of pan pipes and bright lights, nature relaxation, sounds of rain, life in colour, blues on beale and some autumn harvest visuals in the sensory room.

Well that’s it from me, I’m off to do some kapa haka and sing some more.

My Month Of May

 Kia Ora, Sophie here! It’s been a great month.

I've been busy singing with Waiata and Kapa Haka and practicing my song for our performance in June.

I joined the creative kitchen for “what’s in the cupboard” and we made cheese, kumara and corn bread cases, so yummy! 

In sensory I’ve had a great mix of visuals and relaxation as well as funky sounds and concerts. We’ve done In a Galaxy far far away, Nature relaxation, Watersounds, Travel in Japan, Ice Crystals, Taylor Swift and some awesome extreme water sports.

I went out to the Greerton library with my friend Katiana, we read books together and I really enjoyed the one about the Taniwha. We sat at the window and people watched, saw the buses going past, and just had a fun time hanging out at the library!

I finished off the month with some Autumn crafts using leaves that have fallen.

I’ve had so much fun and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next month.

Whats in the cupboard?

 I joined a creative kitchen group and we did a "Whats In The Cupboard" session. We had Kumera grown in our own garden, Corn, Cheese, Eggs and bread so we made super yummy bread cases! I had a great time.

Painting

  This week I helped to paint a submarine. It is going to be used in our iSing perfromance. I cant wait to see our creation on stage!

puzzles and games

  I had a great time doing some of my favourite puzzles and games with my friend Ashoka. We enjoyed listening to some music and singing songs aswell!

Mango Smoothie

 I made a super healthy, yummy mango smoothie in "whats in the cupboard" and it tasted so good!

Same, Same, But different

Poi and Waiata

 In Kapahaka today I really enjoyed swinging the poi around to the song "Poi E"

Watering plants

 I helped to spray our indoor plants with water to give them a drink. It's important to make sure the plants get water every week so they don't die!

Art masterpiece

 

I enjoyed choosing a picture of one of my favourite animals some cute kittens. I then glued and stuck it to a nice frame! 

Bird art

 I enjoyed getting down to the Historic village to check out a bird art exhibition. There was a real bird in a cage that I talked to. Then I went for a stroll and sat in the shade with my friends.

Strand swing

 I had a great morning out with friends down at the Strand park. I went on the swing and had so much fun. It was nice to sit and watch some of the tamariki playing too.
